~"Ya Abati"~

Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Rahim

"Ya Abati"- The phrase that I really wanted my son or daughter called my husband. Since child, I wonder where the word Abah came from since I called my father as Abah. There is a lot of nickname for a son or daughter called their father in Malaysia such as Abah, Babah, Ayah, Papa, daddy and so on.

"Ya Abati", this word is really touching my heart. Know why? It is from the al-Quran. Surah Yousof, chapter number 12 in the Quran. I shed my tears whenever I recite this Surah with the meaning. I dont know why but the tears just running from my eyes. The chapter told the life story of Prophet Yousof since child until he became a successful person, and how his father, Prophet Yacob loved him so much. There are lots of story put us on ponder since there are lots we can learn from the story of Prophet Yousof.

"Ya Abati", this phrase seem so soft. Its like melting my heart. O Allah, give me opportunity to hear my child called my husband "Ya Abati".. Amin... =D

Semangat!!!

Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Rahim

Lately, I feel like to be a poet and make a poem. Umh, not really a poem but something that can express the thing that I am not really understand. It is about the heart and how I am feel so grateful for this beautiful Muslim life that I have. Lets layanzzz.

Terasa diri ini disayangi dan sentiasa diperhati
Setiap hajat yang melintas di hati
Baik sekilas mahupun dilubuk
Alhamdulillah, syukur kehadrat Ilahi

Diri ini sedar akan kasih dan cinta Ilahi
Menjadikan diri hamba bersyukur
Alhamdulillah Ya Allah
Betapa besar kasihMu pada hambaMu

Biarpun aku banyak kurangnya
Namun Engkau tidak pernah tinggalkanKu
Ya Allah, janganlah Engkau tinggalkan diriku walaupun sesaat
Kau peliharalah diri ku setiap detik dan saat

Amin..

MArket Day at UQ

BISMILLAH AR RAHMAN AR RAHIM...
ALHAMDULILLAH

I went to the university early yesterday to prepare the stuff for qPCR (I’m making the standard curve). When I arrived at the lab, I saw the seniors were talking to each other. I’m not greeting them since I’m never talked to them before and a smile would be enough. Somehow, one of them greet me “ Good morning=D”. I’m just reply “Morning”, with a smile. The lab door is locked. One of them “are you want to enter the lab?” he asked. “Yes”, I replied. “ Oh, I am here, the door keeper. Usually I took a charge to open the door”, tried to make a joke with me. “ I’m just smile and chuckle a bit (I don’t like my self to have a chuckle!!!!!). “But for you, its free today”, he added with a smile. “ Oh, thanks” I replied with a smile again.. and a chuckle. =(.

“Are you going for market day?”, I was rained with this question today. Oh, yes, after the lab is done.

Yesterday was a Market Day in UQ. Market Day is held every Wednesday through out the semester. However, yesterday was the biggest market day for this year since the new semester for this year is gonna began. Lots of booth was opened such as the clubs and society, as well as from organizations. I took this opportunity to have a look on the Market Day for this first semester on year 2013. It was WOW! And these are several pictures from yesterday event..
Have a look.
The games also were provided during Market Day

The place where students grab their new Student Diary for 2013

The music comes from the market day shake my eardrum, and I’m just wanna join it. We grab a lot (not so la) goodies bag.  For example from the Red Frog, ANZ bank, Commonwealth Bank and secondhand textbook. For the interesting part is, I get the blue snake shaped piggy bank. There are two shape actually which are the atm shape and snake shape but the atm shape is already run out. Here is it

Then, the lady from the Uq representative approached us to take pictures. So, why not?  Just smile!. =D. Then we rush to the faculty of science building to get the green tumbler (Just dawdled la) but the thing is, it only limited to the new science students. So sad =(.And the happy thing is, I got this shiny green apple for free..haha ( ok rather than nothing, right?) , plus, I am hungry too..

Headed to multifaith center to perform Zuhr and headed to Hartly Teakle building to see my qPCR. On the way, get this cute little diary, with a bright D. It is so the resent of the year. The “D” that bring me a smile. Is it contributed to me (so perasan) haha.
The D-diary =D

And the poor thing for today is…where is my negative control??????? Should I re-do? Umh..  but Ahamdulillah (I'm currently doing it today). Before went home yesterday, I managed to snap a beautiful scene, a gift from Allah s.w.t for us, His slave.

The contrast with the above and below.

At night, after Isya prayer jumaah with friend, went to friend houses to get know the juniors. They are really friendly. Love them =D. Have a nice chat with them. They are really in making jokes.  Got a call from my housemate.. Happy!!! She is already in Brisbane. OK, need to packing up the house..

I am so happy today although I lost a pin and a scarf needle. Alhamdulillah O Allah for the greatest nikmat that You give me today. O Allah do makes me a grateful person. Amin..

PARAH

Last Saturday I was planning going to the West End morning market with friends. Unfortunately I couldn’t sleep well at night that cause me to slept again after the Fajr Prayer and miss the market (not really miss but I rather not go there after 8am).

Then, I decided went to the city to accompany Brisbane newcomers to buy some stuff. Once I was there, I decided just to say Hi and greet them since there are lots of seniors already to give a hand. Proceed to next plan of the day, I waited for the bus to Fortitude Valley to buy chickens for a month stock (or perhaps 2 weeks) =DDDD. It was ‘300’ bus.

While waiting for a bus, the phone rang. A friend called. What? Theatre? Malay? Where? When? So surprised on her invitation till I rained her with lots of question. Then, I agreed to meet at Guyatt Park at 1245. On my way from Fortitude Valley to Guyatt Park, I met a friend that I know during my work in Food Microbe laboratory. Rushing back to friends house, manage to arrive at almost 1 pm. Waited bus for a long time. =(Sorry guys. Perform Dhuhur prayer and together, we walked to the City Cat terminal nearby.
Manageable fee entry for me as a student.

PARAH!!! Wow, it’s beyond my imagination. I haven’t gone to any theatre performance before. This was my first play in my life (except the once in school, perhaps!) and I can say that….BRAVO guys. You all did great!!! Impressive performance. =D. Especially your voice projection.

PARAH is a performance by Malaysian actor and actress about the power of word. Iedil Putra, Farah Hani, Gregory sze and Branavan Aruljothi were plays as Hafiz, Melur, Kahoe and Mahesh during 2pm session on 16Feb 2013. For me, it was an intense, dynamic and inspiring. Intense since it is all about what was happened in Malaysia in 2011 (Too much to reflect for me who are not aware to the situation in 2011). Dynamic since the player make lots of scene: gloomy, happy, humor, reflection..etc. Inspiring? Ok, this one is my own point of view. I am always respect the one that can project their voice nicely in front of audients… and in the scope of the play for PARAH, it is inspiring since it is how ‘friendship’ was shown in the play. As a person, we need to guide and be guided what is wrong and what is right. And also, we need to support friend whenever they are in need.

History. What it is all about? Is it important to know history? Yes, Indeed! History cannot be change but we can make history. I cannot say that history has nothing to do with us since history does have something on us. Today’s life is depends on previous life and the future is depends on today. The life is kept moving. However, what is the matter is today! Yes, TODAY! History can be a support and indeed a STRONG support for our today. A perfect example is for a student. A student with a lower grade in past exam will struggle better in future, as well for the higher-grade student. And perhaps, the work ‘ give up’ comes across the mind. Yes, the past keeps ‘anchored’ the mind. Thus, as TODAY is the day that we face now, why not we change? During Q&A session that day, the phrase still lingering in my mind “ The thing is depends on what you think”. Mind and spirit have the power to change even the history cannot beat it. And even a word cannot beat.

Ok, it is only one thing I regret during the theatre. Let me be sharp here. During Q&A session, a sharp question arise from a female Australian“ I wonder, why Melur (the player) is having the scarf in school but when at home, she take it off although the male are around? Bingo! Thanks for the question. Yes, as a muslim, we should not take off our scarf in front of male that is not our family member, in easy explanation, the one that we can marry, except husband. A SAD but true answer from director explains on how wearing the scarf becomes a cultural practice in Malaysia instead of religion purpose. Yes, it does happen in Malaysia now where the girls wearing the scarf to obey the school uniform standard for muslims. They will take it off after school period ended. How sad. My heart fills with fire hearing that answer where it is a part of CULTURE in Malaysia. Although it is true that wearing a scarf become a culture in certain individual but as a muslims we should not make it as a culture but a RELIGION purpose. This is what ALLAH ask us to do. Cover our aurah. I am full with frustration hearings that answer at that time although it is the reality today. The mood is gone.

At last, BRAVO to the players for the performance. Hope to watch you again next time, perhaps in other place. Friends took a picture with them but not me. I am trying my best not to take picture with any other guys. O ALLAH, do guide my Iman and social activities so that it would not bring slander to my religion and myself. Amin.

p/s: City Cat service from Guyatt Park to New Farm terminal have a very nice view. Will show you guys in next blog post.
